Navya Disha, a registered Public Charitable Trust, has been dedicated to empowering underserved rural and urban-poor communities since 2005. We collaborate closely with the communities we serve, gaining deep insights into their needs. Our approach involves executing impactful programs that address core challenges in education, health and hygiene, water and sanitation, women’s empowerment, and climate change.
Based in Bengaluru, our operations have extended across the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh. Since our inception in 2005, we have worked in tandem with GrameenKoota, contributing to comprehensive development that emphasizes economic progress and social upliftment in rural India. Navya Disha emerged as an independent entity to focus specifically on empowerment interventions for these communities.
Navya Disha is looking for a dynamic, result oriented Program Coordinator for Yuva Chavadi. Yuva Chavadi is Navya Disha’s flagship youth development initiative aimed at addressing the critical vulnerabilities of young people aged 15–29 in rural and peri-urban communities. The program provides safe, inclusive spaces where youth can access life skills, digital literacy, health awareness, career guidance, and leadership opportunities— shifting the focus from “youth for development” to the holistic development of youth themselves. Through a strong community-based model, Yuva Chavadi operates a hub-level Youth Resource Center and 30 youth and teen clubs across Gram Panchayats in Tumakuru district. The initiative works to build confident, capable, and conscious young people by strengthening their pathways to life, livelihood, and civic participation.
Required Skills:
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong project planning, implementation, and monitoring skills.
- Ability to lead teams, mentor field staff, and coordinate with multiple partners.
- Experience in mobilising communities, facilitating youth engagement activities, and conducting capacity-building sessions.
- Good report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage program budgets and ensure timely reporting.
- Comfortable working in rural and urban-poor communities with frequent field travel.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Psychology, or other relevant fields.
- 8–10 years of proven experience in community development programs (experience in youth development is an added advantage).
- Strong communication skills in both Kannada and English (verbal and written).
- Workable knowledge of MS office.
