The Yuva Udyami Program and Academy for Skilling and Entrepreneurship both focus on empowering young individuals by providing access to essential resources and skills for sustainable livelihoods. The Yuva Udyami Program addresses key challenges faced by aspiring entrepreneurs, including access to knowledge, finance, and post-start support, by offering insights into identifying business opportunities, raising capital, and providing long-term mentorship to ensure business sustainability. Academy for Skilling and Entrepreneurship fosters accessible and affordable skill development for individuals lacking resources or opportunities for traditional education. It provides flexible, diverse programs catering to both full-time students and working adults, equipping them with practical, job-ready skills that enhance employability. Together, these programs aim to uplift young men and women by helping them build careers and sustainable businesses.

Position Overview:

The Program Manager will play a critical role in the success of the Yuva Udyami and Academy for Skilling and Entrepreneurship by managing and overseeing these programs. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and strong fundraising capabilities to ensure the successful delivery of programs and their long-term sustainability. The position requires collaboration across various teams and stakeholders to achieve our organizational goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Program Management and Implementation:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and scaling of skilling and entrepreneurship programs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of program milestones and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals and impact.
  • Work closely with participants, government, trainers, industry partners, financial institutions, mentors and ecosystem actors to ensure high-quality program execution.
  • Maintain program budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and tracking expenditures.

Fundraising and Donor Relations:

  • Lead fundraising efforts to secure financial support for skilling and entrepreneurship programs, including identifying potential funding sources.
  • Develop fundraising strategies and implement donor engagement initiatives to build and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Write compelling proposals and concept notes for potential donors, including foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Support the creation of donor reports and ensure the fulfillment of reporting requirements.
  • Assist in organizing fundraising events and campaigns to meet financial goals of the organization.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain systems to track program data, performance metrics, and participant outcomes.
  • Analyze program data to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, showcasing program progress, impact, and challenges.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting, in compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work with senior leadership to define the strategic direction of the  programs and initiatives.
  • Act as the key liaison between internal teams, donors, and external partners to ensure alignment and successful program outcomes.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Lead and support a team of program coordinators, associates, academy staff and volunteers to ensure the success of programs.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to program staff to enhance their performance and career development.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and accountability.

Qualifications and work experience:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in program management, fundraising, or development in the non-profit sector, with a focus on skill development and entrepreneurship.
  • Language: Should be able to converse fluently in English and Kannada.
